Today’s guest is Stanton Moore — the drummer behind Galactic for over 25 years, and one of the most respected voices in New Orleans drumming. Beyond Galactic, he’s led his own jazz trio projects and built a serious second career as an educator, teaching the city’s second-line tradition through Drumeo and his own instructional books.

What makes Stanton worth talking to isn’t just the resume — it’s that he refuses to choose between heavy pocket funk and serious jazz vocabulary. He’s built a career living in both.
